Barbie is a line of fashion dolls marketed by Mattel starting on March 9, 1959 and focused on a young American woman. Real name is Barbara Millicent Roberts and she was born in Willow, Wisconsin. It is the best-selling doll in the world and the flagship element of its production house. The best-selling product of the line was Totally Hair, with hair that can be styled down to the doll's feet, released in 1992. It was also the first toy to have a marketing strategy based heavily on television advertising.
