The Gathering (the name of the Italian edition was Magic: l'Adunanza until the Scourge expansion of June 2003, then The Gathering also appeared on the Italian packs) is a game in which the cards represent the spells available to a magician who confronts another or more wizards in battle. Each of the contenders has creatures, spells, sorceries, artifacts, quick spells (called instants) and allies (called planeswalkers) at their disposal to try to defeat one or more opponents.
The game is divided into several formats, in which different rules apply.
